About
Chamber Music Australia (CMA) is the organisation that presents
the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and its sibling event, the Asia-Pacific Chamber Music Competition.

CMA’s goal is to foster and celebrate the potential of talented, young, ensemble musicians. Through competitions of international significance we aim to inspire young Australian musicians to pursue a career in chamber music on the world stage, while also providing an international benchmark of performance excellence for all young ensembles. Satellite events related to our competitions–master classes, public lectures, free public concerts, live radio broadcasts, televised competition rounds, ensemble development programs–are intended to also inspire our audiences about chamber music and the thrill of ‘discovering’ the music and the musicians.

Both the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and the Asia-Pacific Chamber Music Competition are held every four years alternating biennially (similar to the Olympic and Commonwealth Games).
