Vale Kenneth Tribe.
Kenneth Tribe AC passed away peacefully in Sydney last Friday, aged 96. One of the founders of Chamber Music Australia, Ken (as we knew him) was wise, witty and wonderful and we will miss him greatly. His vision and support for chamber music playing and chamber music repertoire in this country was astounding. Ken shared the duty and the challenge of the International Auditions for the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (see picutres below) and served as Jury Chair for many years. His legal and artistic brain shaped the Voting Rules for our competitions and it was a treat for him to join us at the Asia-Pacific Chamber Music Competition last July (see picture above). He helped us all – competitors, administrators, artistic committee members, jurors, volunteers - and always provided calm and accurate advice!
Thanks for helping so many ensembles and so many composers reach their full potential.
Congratulations to James and Jem for winning the Mietta Song Recital Award.

James Roser

Jem Harding
James Roser and Jem Harding have won the ultimate prize at the 2010 Mietta Song Recital Award. The New South Wales team of Baritone and Pianist wowed the Judges of this year’s Award, held at Melba Hall.
Lisa Gasteen, Marilyn Richardson, Sharolyn Kimmorley and John Poynter judged the competitors working hard to promote the world of Art Song – the very fine balance of duo music-making similar to the demands of the Piano Trio and the String Quartet formations.
Stay tuned for the next Competition to be held in July 2012.
